I am a qualified Professional Health & Medical Coach. Health & Medical Coaching specialises in coaching people who are living with a condition, illness or injury, managing a new diagnosis or general wellness affected by stress, burn out and fatigue.
I have an extreme passion for holistic approaches and innovation. With a background as an Exercise Physiologist within the NHS, I worked specifically with Cardiovascular Rehabilitation, Stroke, breast cancer and lifestyles diseases. My responsibilities included educating around living with conditions, healthy choices and lifestyle coaching. I was one of the founders of an award winning programme ‘Patients living with an ICD support programme’. This was integral to their adaptation and acceptance of their diagnosis, helping them navigate their next chapter post diagnosis.
After leaving the NHS, I trained as a Professional Health & Medical Coach (PMC) with the Medical Coaching Institute (MCI).
When people are stressed or feel in crisis, they can lose a sense of who they are and what’s important to them, especially if they are a carer as well. They struggle to navigate their day to day life and this can affect their health, mental and physical wellbeing and how they function, in life, at work, and in society.
The Health & Medical Coaching approach is different as It focuses on individual engagement and taking action, empowering the individual to gain awareness of themselves. It focusses on reconnecting the mind and body. This connection helps people acknowledge how they feel and how to move forward.
Within our coaching sessions, we aim to create a tool box to assist clients to manage challenging situations, response instead of react, and build strength and resilience within themselves. This coaching can also helps those living with chronic pain, allowing space for them to work on pain management techniques at home, which can assist in chronic cases where managing pain is a daily task.
